Jyotiṣa Paramparā

Vedic Astrology/Jyotiṣa has always been taught properly in the Gurū-Śiśya paramparā and most of these traditions of jyotiṣa draw their lineage from Maharishi Parāśara.

The Jyotiṣa paramparā/tradition I’m blessed to be a part of traces its jyotiṣa from Shri Achyutananda Dāsa, one of the five direct disciples of Śri Chaitanya Mahāprabhū (a partial incarnation of Shri Krishna/Shri Vishnu).

As a disciple, Shri Achyutananda Dāsa, acted as head astrologer/jyotiṣa, and taught 12 students the aspects of seeing the past present and future. These 12 students, in turn, taught their students, and somewhere along the line, this was taught to Sri Jagannath Rath, who then taught his son: Kashinath Rath.

Pt. Sanjay Rath [Guru to me & many students around the world] studied under late Pt. Kashinath Rath, his uncle.
